The works eligible for the Malraux scheme must meet strict criteria in order to preserve the historic character of the property.

They must be carried out under the supervision of an architect from Bâtiments de France.

They mainly concern the structure, facade, roof and decorative elements of the building.

Interior works can also be taken into account, but only if they contribute to the restoration of the ancient habitat.

Examples of eligible work:

Repair of facades and renovation.

Repair or renovation of the roof.

Restoration of old joinery, moldings and architectural elements.

Upgrading of certain equipment while respecting the integrity of the building (heating, plumbing).

⚠️ Are not eligible:

Decoration or furnishing work.

Extensions or new constructions.

Simple comfort work (painting, modern flooring, etc.).

The objective is clear: to preserve the authenticity and the cachet of the heritage, while allowing a modern and locative use.
